Summary on Grant Application Form
How do you start think about making a drug that will cure cancer? Just how difficult is it to make a ton of chemicals? This project aims to help students understand the exciting research being carried out in chemistry by taking ideas and concepts introduced at school and making them real. Students will work in teams developing presentations on topics such as The Action and Development of Medicines and Controlling Chemical Processes, and will compete for a prize for the best presentation each year. These will help the students better understand the importantance of chemistry and what it is used for in modern research. A substantial part of our work will be in the production of interactive resource materials, including some short films, that will show students the chemistry in action and more importantly the people doing the chemistry. All of the partners involved in this project find it important that the careers aspect of this project be maintained and promoted.
