Nottingham Innovative Manufacturing Research Centre is seeking additional Management support to assist with its rapidly expanding research portfolio and related activities - strategic planning, industrial collaboration, recruitment, research supervision and dissemination.NIMRC proposes to appoint a Strategic Development Officer. This post will support a range of new initiatives to consolidate NIMRC's international leading status. They include1. The co-ordination of existing studies of trends in science, technology, management and logistics.2. The mapping of core expertise with upstream (science) and downstream (technology transfer) opportunities 3. Analysis of short term and long term self-sustaining potential across the portfolio4. Co-ordination of external communications and branding.5. Co-ordination of corporate bids in partnership with, for example, blue chip organisations.The part-time, fixed term appointment on Level 5 Administrative, Professional and Managerial Grade will work predominantly with NIMRC's Principal Investigators' Board, the NIMRC Director and the NIMRC Strategic Review Group.A budget independent of NIMRC's research fund will be set up to support the SDO role to include: - Market intelligence, technology trends and communications- Travel and substance to liaise with industrial and academic collaborators - Adminstrative support and consumables
