Summary on Grant Application Form
To appoint an Innovation Support Officer (ISO) to develop and manage strategic relationships with identified firms and industry bodies. The focus on 'innovation support' is important to emphasise that this is an industry-facing activity. The maintenance of long-term relationships is crucially dependent upon industrial partners' ability to innovate as a result of their participation in research. The role of the ISO would primarily focus on the strengthening of existing relationships. Of key importance will be to act as the primary interface with Be, Constructing Excellence and the constituent members of Coconstruct. The appointee would also have an important role in managing the relationships with individual firms amongst the centre's key partners. A further important part of the ISO's remit will be to improve the inter-connectivity between the programme of activities embraced in the University's pending bid for a Collaborative Training Account (CTA). Of particular importance is to achieve a more direct relationship between the programme of taught MSc modules and the CCRC's evolving research portfolio. Additional management time is also necessary to improve the connectivity between the community of PhD researchers and the ICRC research strategy.
