|
A group of academics will visit fellow researchers and industrialists in Japan. By learning what these parties are doing, with the facilities that they have available, it will be possible to understand what research is being generated and how the Japanese automotive industry proposes to implement the results. The examination of the state of the art in Japan will be disseminated within the UK, whilst the profile of current high quality UK research will also be rasied within Japan. A further result of this work will be the identification of key interested parties in UK and Japan and the establishment of international collaborations in areas of mutual interest. These collaborations will be of benefit of both the academic and industrial communities and hence the wider populations of the UK and Japan.
