Summary on Grant Application Form
This project will examine the synthesis and properties (spectroscopic, structural and electrochemical)of Group 4 & 5 TM ions with selenolate (RSe-) and tellurolate (RTe-) ligands and evaluate them as single-source precursors to thin film TM diselenide and ditelluride materials by chemical vapour deposition. Parallel studies will examine dual source deposition of thin film TM diselenides. These materials will be examined for crystal structure, morphology and electronic structure, plus they will be tested for activity as intercalation hosts in gas sensor applications.
