I propose to attend the semester on K-theory and non-commutative geometry at the Institut Henri Poincare in Paris from March to July 2004.This semester will attract a large number of eminent researchers in several related fields. I wish to learn these cutting-edge new techniques and incorporate them into my work, and also develop new collaborations.I also wish to develop several ongoing projects by consultation and collaboration with people who will be attending the semester or who work in the Paris region.
