Summary on Grant Application Form
The Multi-User Vector Signal and Network Analysis Instrumentation to be purchased from the Basic element of the EPSRC Capital Award for Core Equipment 2022 will significantly benefit academic research activities at Ulster University that directly align with the EPSRC strategic priorities in Wireless and Optical Communication Engineering, Healthcare Technologies, Digital Twin, Manufacturing the Future and Physical Sciences.

The proposed testbed framework will provide for new advances in areas such as Wireless Communications, Microwave Photonics and Optical Communication, Digital Healthcare, Advanced Manufacturing and Digital Twins, and Electromagnetic-Based Health Screening.

It will also greatly benefit our R&D support for indigenous industry and assists with attracting foreign direct investment by making available resources that major companies expect to be available in the region. Hence, its availability will directly contribute to the drivers of economic growth in NI, as promoted by DfE, Invest NI and the NI MATRIX Panel. In doing so it will increase the international profile of the NI Higher Education sector in NI that is central to the delivery of the emerging Ulster University Strategic Plan 2023-28.
