Summary on Grant Application Form |
Many important physical systems are modelled as Inverse problems.
For example Medical imaging problems (Ultra-sound, EIT, PET scan) non destructive testing of structures, Security screening, Oil and Gas detection
A number of groups in the UK are working on these problems and the proposed network will be a means where
they can meet fellow research workers to discuss problems and present new ideas with the goal of creating synergy.
As well as facilitating interaction between UK mathematicians working in these areas the network will also bring in practitioners and
outside experts to contribute to the meetings with the potential for cross fertilisation of ideas. It will also provide funds for experts to visit members of the network.
