Summary on Grant Application Form
The main aim of the project is to make a <100 transceiver circuit to replace desktop instrumentation costing over 40,000: RFID biosensors using this electronic part can them be assembled to attract investors for applications in the biopharmaceutical, defense, forensic, bioterrorism, medical, environmental, life sciences, food and beverage and public sectors. To fit the technology to the market, prototypes will be trialed with life scientists at Cambridge University and questionnaires and interviews used to expose measurement needs in industry and academia. Discussions with mobile phone companies are underway and commercialisation either via a start-up company or licensing are planned.
