Summary on Grant Application Form |
1) Invite two additional plenary speakers, in addition to Professor Pollack, in order to raise the profile of this inaugural symposium so that we establish this event as a high quality, international symposium; which the UK will be leading.2) Produce proceedings from the symposium that will include invited papers from the three plenary speakers. This will provide a lasting legacy from this event.3) Through this symposium, collaborate with UK based researchers in order to ascertain the viability of establishing a UK EPSRC network. Attracting these researchers (through a high quality plenary programme) to attend the symposium will allow us to gauge opinion as to whether an EPSRC network proposal is viable.4) Hold a special session at the conference in order to allow discussion amongst those present to direct future research. This, we hope, would lead to research proposals being submitted by those that attend the conference.
