1. To establish a multidisciplinary and inter-professional forum that will lead to innovative collaboration between (1) Researchers in human aspects of urban design; (2) Designers, including architects, Landscape Architects, urban Designers; (3) Child and adolescent health experts; (4) Community safety and crime prevention advisors; (5) Child psychologists; (6) Teachers; (7) Organisations involved in child and adolescent play and development; (8) Play equipment manufacturers and suppliers; (9) Landscape companies.2. To generate new ideas and debates on which factors have the greatest potential for stimulating outdoor play and promoting physical activities,through inclusive design.3. To formulate the priorities for action and integrated strategies for research and innovation on the role of creative design of outdoor public spacesin counteracting young people's increasing sedentary lifestyles.4. To report and disseminate outputs/progress of innovative national and international research activities in this field.5. To create a focus for information exchange and to inform and advise, where appropriate, those involved in allocating UK public sector researchfunding.6.
