Summary on Grant Application Form |
The aim of this project is to develop and explore a novel system for high-level robot perception that combines logical abduction and top-down information flow with a computational architecture, based on global workspace theory , that incorporates multiple parallel or concurrent processes that each carry out a different form of computation on the raw sensor data, using a variety of off-the-shelf image processing techniques. The project builds on advances made by the Principal Investigator and his research group, largely thanks to a series of previous EPSRC-funded projects, in the areas of knowledge representation, high-level robot perception, and cognitive robotics.
