Summary on Grant Application Form |
The Ninth Neural Computation and Psychology Workshop (NCPW) will be held in Plymouth on 8 -10 September 2004. This series of workshops has traditionally been dedicated to connectionist modelling in psychology and cognitive science. This year, we wish to bring the focus onto an area relevant to communicating agents, such as cognitive robots, and wish to extend the appeal of NCPW to experts in ICT, physics and engineering. Recent advances in the understanding of the relationships between language and other sensorimotor and cognitive abilities should support the development of novel and effective methods and applications in artificial intelligence, robotics, and cognitive systems design. Hence, the proposed theme is Language, Cognition and Action and the list of keynote speakers also includes experts in robotics.
